If there’s one celebrity couple that fans can’t get enough of, it’s the Khumalos. The entertainment industry is a bit fickle and not all relationships last, but Basetsana Khumalo’s relationship with her husband Romeo seems to have stood the test of time.

It's been 20 years of marriage and they are still glowing. When they started dating, she was 23 years of age and she got married to Romeo three years later.

Celebrating their 20th anniversary on Wednesday, Basetsana took to social media and shared a romantic wedding video snippet of Romeo singing George Benson Nothing's Gonna Change My Love for You to her at their wedding ceremony. She also wrote a heartfelt open letter about their journey of love.

“From the day I met you, I knew I have met an incredible man, with a beautiful soul, a kind heart. I didn’t quite know what a gift you would be to my life journey, what deep and profound joy you would bring me, what life long memories we would go on and create. You never for a minute sought to change me, but accepted me with all that I am,” she wrote.

A doting dad

The couple have three children, two sons Nkosinathi and Shaka, and their daughter Bontle ba Morena. In her anniversary letter, Basetsana spoke about being happy to not only call Romeo her husband but the father to her children too. During an interview with Top Billing, she also praised him as a good father.

"What I love about my husband is that he is a present father, the way he is raising not only just his sons to be just decent members of humanity but even his daughter to find her own voice and be courageous and I just love watching him with them. It's what makes me fall in love with him everyday when I see what an amazing human being he is but what an amazing dad he is,” she said.

The Month of Love

On Valentine's Day, Basetsana Khumalo poured her heart out on Instagram, reminiscing about the good times and bad times that they have gone through together.

“This is from my heart with love to you...This is for every hour we have ever spent together: for every kiss, each embrace, and every tear shed for each other. This is for every precious moment we have created just by being together: For all the times we managed to work through our anger and our tears, for all the times I was distressed and you were patient...This is for all the beautiful memories of the love we have made and given to each other, of all the tenderness and love,” she wrote.

Birthday Wishes

For Romeo’s 48th birthday on 25 February, Basetsana said she had chosen the perfect person to do life with.

“What a Divine blessing to have met you, fallen in love with you, been married to you, raise a family together with you, and building a generational legacy with a man who is so grounded, focused, undeterred, hard-working, and passionate. I love doing life with you and I would choose you all over again.”

Man Crush Monday

He's always been her man crush. Basetsana posted a slideshow of her husband, calling him her official man-crush on Monday with the hashtag MCM.
