Those who loved him remember him every day.
Every year, they share stories of how they met, his impact and the moments they will treasure forever.
Former YoTV presenter and Tempy Pushas actor, Akhumzi Jezile touched many lives and he continues to do so, four years after his untimely death.
The charismatic star died in a horrific car crash on the N6 between Jamestown and Queenstown, in the Eastern Cape on the 28 April 2018, together with his close friends while attending his grandmother's funeral.
His friends took to social media to celebrate his life by posting pictures with him and sharing stories about him.
Entertainer Lumko Johnson, who was a close friend of Akhumzi, reflected on his life with him as his boss and friend.
After Akhumzi’s passing, Urban Brew had candles + flowers on his desk. It happened to be my last week there b/c I had resigned. Our last conversation was about Winnie’s funeral a few days before, & how Julius spoke. We were joking about who would pull a Julius at his funeral??— ???????????? (@LumkoJohnson) April 28, 2022
He shared how it was working with the late star. He took his fans down memory lane and behind the scenes of a situation where he and Akhumzi had to deal with something involving late rapper ProKid.
Another time, I’d booked Prokid as a guest on the show and he arrived really drunk. I wanted to can the interview but Akhumzi insisted on feeding him apples to sober him up ahead of the interview. We had him sitting in the parking lot at Urban Brew biting into Granny Smiths????— ???????????? (@LumkoJohnson) April 28, 2022
His long-time friend Dr Musa Mthembeni also took to Instagram to share pictures. "Gone but never forgotten. A.K Jizzle. (The sad part is that you used this aka thinking it’s cool, Kanti…)."
Kaya FM’s Mthokozisi Cele, known as MaBlerh, also shared how he and Akhumzi became friends.
How I became friends with Akhumzi? He came up to me at an event and said "I like you. We are friends now.". The next day he was in my house. I had absolutely no say in it. He happened to me. ??— The Emperor Of Umlazi (@MaBlerh) April 28, 2022
