This Valentine's month has come with good news of wedding bells, pregnancies, and engagements. But for some, it has been a sad time of heartbreaks.

Media personality Minnie Dlamini announced that she and her husband of four years Quinton Jones have decided to go their separate ways. In a joint statement, they explained that they've been living apart for a few months.

“After months of separation and consultations with our family and a counsellor, we have decided to officially file for divorce.

“Despite our better efforts to absorb the changes in motion, the emotional burden and post-traumatic distress of our individual loss outweighed our will. After months of separation and consultation with our family and a counsellor, we have taken the decision to officially file for divorce.”

Despite the end of their marriage and romantic relationship, they wish to remain friends, business partners, and loving parents to our beautiful son.

Here are five memorable moments from Minnie and Quinton's marriage:

1: BECOMING MRS JONES: Their wedding celebration was a dream come true. The couple hosted a traditional wedding in Glenn Hills, Durban North. They later had their white wedding on 16 September 2017. They documented their wedding in a three-part Showmax series titled: Becoming Mrs Jones starting with her bachelorette which she hosted in Paris.

2: MINNIE’S PREGNANCY: In September 2020 Minnie announced her pregnancy to their first child. In a post on social media, she wrote, "Starting a family with you, Mr. Jones is a dream come true and I couldn't have chosen a better man to be the father of our child. Our family has suffered such a painful loss; however, God has proven to us that with death, comes new life, and we welcome this miracle wholeheartedly. Happy Birthday, my love, we're having a baby. Best Bday presents ever, I know lol.”

3: CELEBRATING THEIR SONS BIRTHDAY: In November, Minnie and Quinton celebrated their son Netha Makhosini’s first birthday with the theme of fast cars at the Jaguar Land Rover Experience Centre and the colour scheme was blue and white, and it was attended by friends Anele Mdoda, actress Zola Nombona and Miss South Africa 2007 Tansey Coetzee.

4: FAMILY GATHERINGS: On Christmas in 2021, Minnie spoke to Drum about sending part of the festive season with her family before she went off on holiday in Cape Town with her friends.

“I cook a lot, swim, and spend a lot of time with my family. It is my downtime and I take as much time away from work as I possibly can. I love to cook my oxtail, everyone loves it. I also make a really good curry. I love to cook with my husband because he is a great cook and it’s our best time together. But I’m just really spoilt. My mom and dad call me Meghan Markle coz I’m a princess and my husband does most of the cooking,” she chuckles.

5: HOW THEY STARTED DATING: Minnie and Quinton met in 2010 while both working at Urban Brew Studios in Johannesburg. Minnie’s career was just starting and she had moved to Johannesburg from Cape Town. He became Minnie’s best friend before they started dating and their friendship grew. When they both became single, they started dating after he took her on holiday.
