He made her feel seen and treated her like a queen. He also stuck with her through difficult times.

When she started in the industry, she was teased because of her 'unpopular' style but when she was in the presence of her friend Quiteria, she felt recognised in the industry.

Singer Makhadzi, full name Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, says that Quiteria Kekana was the only person she trusted with her personal issues.

She took to Instagram to share her heartbreak over his death. The designer passed away after a long battle with cancer.

She recalls how he helped her get back on her feet in 2019.

“I remember 2019 I was broken, a lot was happening in my life, I lost lots of things including my relationship. You sent me a DM to come to your workshop so we can start working together, when I arrived at your workshop there were lot of celebrity people, and I remained in my car waiting for people to go, just because I thought people will judge me and maybe can see on my face that I am going through a lot.”

When people spoke badly of her fashion sense, he was the one that motivated her to let him become her stylist.

She remembers the empowering words he said to her.

“I called you because of I work with queens and I want you to own your throne, how are you going to own your throne crying for things that you can not change. I want everyone who took you for granted to know that you are a queen, but you lack a designer, allow me to be your stylist."
