She is the fashionable and bubbly co-presenter of the SABC 1 show Telkom Monate Vibes as well as the co-host of Massiv Music.
Actress, model, and presenter Anele Zondo (26) has also worked behind the scenes and believes her reign is yet to come.
“I was born to be a star,” she tells Drum. Growing up in Newcastle, KwaZulu Natal, Anele had always known she would be in front of the camera. “Commanding attention has always been easy for me,” she says.
After Grade 12, she studied for her National Diploma in Media Studies at Boston Media House in Johannesburg.
“In Grade 12, I had already decided on which direction I would be taking with my career.”
But because she needed to be sure, she worked for her older sister’s catering company. “I did this while still in college and attending auditions,” she says.
“I worked as a PA to Mazondo Foods services. I was my sister's delivery girl, the driver, receptionists, and PA. But it wasn’t for me. I loved dressing up, looking good, walking the red carpets, and being in front of the camera, so I quit and followed my dream,” she says.

Her career began with The River where she played Andile’s girlfriend. “I acted alongside Lunga Mofokeng as his girlfriend before he discovered his sexuality,” she says.
“Then the roles kept coming, but they were not very big,” she says. But soon after that, she bagged Massiv Music for two years. “I then got a role on Saints and Sinners ad Muvhango. I know I still have a long way to go, but I am willing to put in the work,” she says.

Last year, Anele bagged a presenting job on One Mic on SABC. “That was Africa’s biggest rap battle with over three million viewers, and it was in the top 15 most-watched shows. It really set the pace for what was to come for me,” she adds.
Now co-host of Telkom Monate Vibes, Anele says it is a dream come true. “This show allowed me to be myself and to show how versatile I can be. I bring in the fashion element on the show which is also a strength,” she says.
Right now, Anele is focusing on growing her brand. “This industry is challenging, and one needs many streams of income, so I am trying to be versatile and work behind the scenes as well as in front of the camera,” she says. In 2021, Anele will be making huge career announcements that she believes will put her on the list of IT girls.
“People must just watch this space.”
