She spent 21 years as a teacher, and 33 years on radio. At 75, she's now looking for a career change - she wants to be an actress.

Nomthunzi Vuza, affectionately known as Mama ka Ma Asi, is hanging up the mic at Umhlobo Wenene but she's not ready to fully retire.

After working as a primary school teacher in Ngqushwa, in the Eastern Cape for 21 years, she started writing in to radio shows on Radio Xhosa. It ultimately became Umhlobo Wenene and she joined the station as a freelancer doing a kiddies show called Eyentsashane.
