When he left, there were a lot of rumours. Was he fired? What was next for him?

And now that he is back on the popular SABC 1 drama series Uzalo, fans are too overjoyed to care about the whys and hows.

Thulane Shange is back and he's still the same chilling villain he was before he left. He's baying for blood and revenge and isn't interested in things of the past.

“I am back on the show,” says Thulane. “And I am still on the same mission of bringing down Nkunzi. Ngifuna ukuziphindiselela, [I want revenge] for my father and brother’s death.

“That is all I can say at the moment. Viewers must stay tuned to see how I will do that.”

He initially joined Uzalo as Thulane, a man on a quest for revenge. He wanted to avenge his father's death and he and his brother set out a plan of action.

However, the brothers ended up being killed by the very same man who was responsible for their dad’s passing. Nkunzi, played by Masoja Msiza, shot both of them at point-blank range.

When he was killed off Uzalo publicist Nomfundo Zondi said the reason their storyline was cut off was because the show was entering a new season and certain characters had to be dropped as they have served their purpose.

“They will soon bid the series farewell. Stay tuned, these characters will exit the Uzalo world in an epic, high-drama filled adieu,” said Nomfundo at the time.

Since Thulane has made a comeback to the show, Drum spoke to Uzalo about what viewers can expect.

“Uzalo is committed to bringing viewers exciting and unexpected twists and changes to storylines to keep them entertained and glued to the screens,” Nomfundo now says.

“This is the reason why Thulane is back to shake things up!”

“Stay tuned to see as his story unfolds.”
