No holiday cheer for most South Africans as they count cost of Covid-19

The year 2020 has been tough on most people, not just emotionally, but financially too. This time of the year, South African families are usually planning and finalizing their plans for their Christmas lunch menus, but it seems that Covid-19 is the grinch that stole the Christmas spirit.

Sane Ngidi from KwaZulu Natal says 2020 has been a challenging year for her family and they are not in celebratory mood.

“We usually go all out. We usually alternate each year and we do not spend Christmas in one place.  Last year I hosted and I decorated a tree, we had exchanging of gifts and a tent, but this year things are different
