- 500g - samp-and-bean mix, soaked overnight
- 2l - water
- 1 - onion, finely chopped
- 2 - carrots, chopped
- 2 - potatoes, chopped
- 400 g - chopped tomatoes
- 400g - mushroom soup
- - salt and pepper
- 100g - biltong powder
1 Put the samp-and-bean mix in a large pot with water over medium heat, bring to a boil and simmer for 2 hours until soft.
2 Add the onion, carrots, potatoes and tomatoes. Simmer for 30 minutes or until soft.
3 Stir in the mushroom soup and simmer for another 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and season with the salt and pepper.
4 Fold in the biltong powder and leave to stand for 5 minutes.
