When she didn’t get her period in her teens, she was worried, but not that much.

After all, her grandmother only got hers when she was 19, so she thought it might be something that runs in the family. But as year after year passed with no sign of it, she became concerned and went to visit a doctor.

What she heard there changed her life. She learnt that although she was phenotypically a woman, her genetic make up matched that of a man.
