Imagine growing up in a religious home where traditional events were not done. Then studying and climbing the corporate ladder in a finance job where appearances matter. Then getting the calling.

This is Maudu Machaka’s journey – one which involved a lot of soul searching while becoming a healer.

It had its fair share of challenges too, she tells us. From her family to taking time off work to go to initiation school to be taught the ins and outs of becoming a traditional healer – she’s gone through it all.
