Every year, hundreds of shoppers queue outside major retailers to be the first through the doors to get their hands on those discounted goods they've had their eyes on.
Last year’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday events were the biggest in South Africa to date, with more than seven million transactions processed – a 36% increase from the year before – and more than R6 billion incurred in card transactions, according to BankservAfrica.
This year, it's going to be a very different scene, as the last place most people want to be is immersed in a crowd of eager shoppers.
