She wouldn’t be the first scorned lover to get a revenge bod.

No matter how emotionally mature and spiritually aligned you may be, there’s just something that makes you want to make your ex weep with regret when they see how much hotter you’ve become ever since you split up.

The pursuit of a revenge bod is a mission that helps many heartbroken women and men, alike, heal emotionally and find new confidence, as many celebs have often said.

“This is my revenge body,” Khloe Kardashian boldly announced to the world in a magazine after she’d shed so much weight she was almost unrecognisable following her highly publicised heartbreaks in 2015, “for all my critics who called me ‘the fat one’ for my entire existence.”

Speaking to Women's Health about her workout routine for the cover interview, she said: “The first 45 days you're like, 'F**k this s**t.' You're exhausted, you're sore, and I actually felt fatter because I was swollen.

“If you keep going, you're eventually like, 'Wow, is that an indentation on my arm? Yeah, it's a revenge body. But it's just as much for all my critics who called me 'the fat one' for my entire existence."

Whatever Khloe’s motivation, she certainly looked amazing topless on the cover of Women’s Health magazine – toned, slim and happy.

Then there was the incomparable La La Anthony.

She made it look like she’d lost weight overnight after news broke that her now ex-husband, Carmelo Anthony, had allegedly cheated on her.

It wasn’t stress that made her lose it though, she later said. Like Khloe, she’d been working out – hard.

“I definitely have lost weight. I definitely feel better about myself, more toned, have more energy,” she told E! News in a rare 2017 interview.

“I always say when you look good, you feel good. When you feel like you’re putting the effort into you, it just changes your whole outlook on yourself.”

This US woman may have taken it too far though – or has she?

“My marriage ended, so I bought some boobies and I hired a personal trainer,” Amanda Martin, 26, from Las Vegas told the UK Daily Star recently.

She spent about R483 000 on a makeover that included fillers, fat transfer, liposuction procedures, and butt implants – all so she could go from being a self-described innocent and conservative girl with a “flat as a pancake” chest to looking like a “sexy thick queen” with 32DDD breasts.

“The way I feel about myself comes from within. I have always thought my inner beauty and personality was awesome. I just like making the outside match how I feel about myself inside already,” said Amanda, whose new-found confidence made her explore online dating.

She also started sharing selfies on Instagram to up her Tinder matches.

“Amanda’s Instagram account exploded as a result of her seductive new image, and she now has 4,3 million followers on the social media platform,” reports the Daily Mail.

And not only that, she’s now swimming in money after her new look led her to an unexpected stream of income: sending Only Fans pics.

“She now earns a whopping £1 164 121 (R24,5 million) every year from Only Fans and paid advertisements on Instagram,” according to the Star.

Talk about a return on investment.
