When news emerged that singer Jhene Aiko had been married to her producer Dot da Genius, everyone was in shock.
The pair had been touring together and became very close.
After one of the tours, where a video of Big Sean and Jhene was taken showing them kissing on stage, Jhene returned home and filed for a divorce.
While many say she was divorcing due a brewing relationship with Big Sean, some said she had had enough of the toxic marriage, and this speculation came after she Tweeted, "free from the drugs, depression and confrontation."
A fan made a comment saying "Jhene Aiko splits with husband after making 'Twenty88' with Big Sean, Is this true? If so, what's up with you?"
Jhene replied saying, "Put down the blog, pick up a book, you like science at all? Art? Nature? Music? There are literally books for all these things."
Dot da Genius could not contain himself and also went straight to social media: "In light of the public threats, false allegations, and attempts to slander my name and character, I am compelled to speak up. Because my nature is peaceful, I have never been violent or abusive towards any woman in my life," he said.
In one of Jhene’s tweets she motions how her and her husband do not live together and that he is a still best friend with his ex girlfriend, which made her uncomfortable.
Jhene has a 7 year old daughter named Namiko Love Browner with R&B singer O'Ryan.
