Jacqueline 'Mama Jackie' Ramohlola,  has been arrested for selling two orphaned children to a couple in Mpumalanga.

In defence Mama Jackie insisted that she did sell the children, she had found a suitable home for the children and that the couple donated R30 000 to the orphanage.

Judge Mahomed Ismail sentenced Mama Jackie to 12 years imprisonment with a 5 years suspension.

Mama Jackie could not hold her tears as she broke down in court after describing how she herself was once an orphan and only wanted to help children.

Ramohlola had been running an unregistered childcare centre in Diepkloof Soweto.
