Tokollo 'Magesh' Tshabalala's arrest drama

You may remember Tokollo Tshabalala as a third of the South African kwaito sensation TKZee but now he's in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

According to Daily Sun Magesh was  arrested on charges of theft on Monday in Bloemfontein after he refused to pay a R62 bill for his drinks. The daily reported that Magesh and his friend Thabiso Mpolo ordered and drank two ciders which they thought were too pricey to pay for. An eyewitness at the Cubana who spoke to the People's Paper said that the two pals tried to leave the establishment without paying their bill and the cops were called when they refused to settle it. "The waitress asked him to pay when she saw him trying to leave without settling his bill. The waitress called the Park Road police after he refused to pay for the two ciders he had finished.” said the witness as quoted by the paper.

“When he saw the cops he changed his tune. He said he was famous and had money but then began to negotiate, offering to pay R40. Magesh caused a scene and told the cops that the prices were expensive and he wouldn’t pay,” the witness continued.

Magesh and his buddy were then arrested.

Daily Sun now reports that they appeared in court yesterday but the pair was subsequently freed as the charges against them were dropped.
