Zahara's 3rd album goes gold within 24 hours of its release

Zahara's no stranger to controversy, or breaking sales records. Her first album, Loliwe, was certified platinum in 13 days and double platinum after 17 days while her sophomore project Phendula sold more than 100 000 copies within two weeks of its release The Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) considers an album gold for 20 000 copies shipped to retailers and platinum for 40,000 copies shipped. She has lost no steam with the release of her third studio album, Country Girl. Her newest project is said to have sold more than 20 000 copies within 24hours of its release on Friday, 25 September 2015.

She was even said to be a Xhosa Beyonce. With no single or visible marketing aside from memes about the release of Country Girl, Zahara continues to slay where album sales are concerned.
