South Africa was almost robbed of the acting genius that is Aubrey Poo at the end of his first year of drama school, when he considered joining a boy band from Pretoria.

“At the end of my first year I had been flirting with singing R&B hooks on hip hop tracks. I said to the guys, 'No look, let me focus on my acting instead of the music.' Then I found musical theatre to by my outlet because I still loved music,” Aubrey says, speaking to Drum from his Johannesburg home.
