Everyone understands that 2021 was a tough year for matriculants. Not only did they have to study virtually for a few months, but they wrote their exams during a pandemic. 

As we await the release of the Grade 12 results, South Africans have taken to social media to reassure matrics that no matter what happens, there is hope out there.

One of them is Rivoningo Khosa, a UCT student studying towards her PhD in the science field – more than 10 years after she got a D in science in matric.
