London - Anheuser-Busch InBev plans to sell SABMiller [JSE:SAB] beer brands in central and Eastern Europe to win European Union regulatory approval for its £74.3bn acquisition of the London-based brewer.

AB InBev submitted an updated proposal to the European Commission that included a commitment to sell the operations in Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland, the company said in a statement on Friday.

The company already has agreed to sell the Peroni, Grolsch and Meantime brands to Asahi Group Holdings.
