Malusi Gigaba's name has once again come up at the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture, and this time, a witness claimed that his appointment as Minister of Public Enterprises in November 2010 coincided with the capture of the state-owned diamond mining company, Alexkor.
Gavin Craythorne, a marine diamond mining contractor who presented evidence before the commission on Monday, gave an account of events that threatened the viability of the troubled company which has been bogged down by poor management, including allegations of capture by entities linked to the Guptas.
