Steyn City's new flagship apartment development, the City Centre, opens for sales on 11 October.
As part of phase one of the development, 283 apartments have been completed. Construction of phases two and three has started and is expected to be complete during the latter half of 2024.
When completed, the City Centre will offer over 700 one-, two-, three- and four-bedroomed simplex and duplex apartments, measuring from 68m². Added to this, 11 penthouses will be available, measuring 439m² on average, with features such as private lift lobbies and private plunge pools. Pricing for these apartments ranges from R2.3 million to R35 million.
According to Steyn City Properties CEO Giuseppe Plumari, the offering is markedly different from other apartment developments in that the apartments are designed as "permanent homes" and not a stepping stone towards owning a house. Therefore, the apartments have large dimensions and premium fittings. The development is designed in the form of 38 small "villages" situated on a hillside to create more of a communal feel.
The "villages" centre around piazzas which, once the development is complete, will feature retailers and restaurants. A "super-basement" of over 9ha will provide parking for about 2 000 cars and a "truck tunnel" will provide access for service and delivery vehicles.
