More than a decade after the Gautrain's operations kicked off, R1.7 billion is added to the provincial economy for each year it is running.

Over 15 million people move on the system each year and, says Makgola Makololo, managing director of Bombardier Transportation in South Africa, it has fed into thousands of direct and indirect jobs.
