Low risk of load shedding over long weekend - Eskom

Eskom has not implemented rotational load shedding on Wednesday and said in an early-evening statement that the prognosis remains low for the long weekend.

It said the risk of rotational load shedding over the long weekend is low as a result of the expected drop in demand over this period.

Eskom undertook to inform customers through all media platforms should the system status change over the long weekend period.

So far Eskom did not have to implement load shedding this week.

Last week Eskom indicated that there will be a high risk of load shedding until Sunday 2 September. Eskom has asked businesses and the public to use power sparingly during this period.
