Cape Town – President Jacob Zuma’s claims that Des van Rooyen was more qualified than any minister he’d ever appointed in the Finance Ministry was “unwise”, the DA said on Monday.

Zuma said during a press conference at the Union Buildings in Pretoria that Van Rooyen was his “comrade” and that “he's a trained finance and economic comrade and more qualified than any minister I have ever appointed in the finance issue”.

Zuma was speaking at the launch of the Presidential Press Corp (PPC).
