Hong Kong stocks end morning with gains

Hong Kong stocks jumped more than 1% on Wednesday as traders kept an eye on the US midterm elections with Democrats on course to regain control of the House of Representatives and Republicans to hold the Senate.

The Hang Seng Index rose 1.17% to 26 427.31.
