Hong Kong stocks suffer fresh losses in morning

Hong Kong stocks saw more losses on Wednesday morning, extending the previous day's drop of more than 2%, with investors keeping tabs on a brewing row between Brussels and Rome over Italy's budget.

The Hang Seng Index fell 0.52% to 26 985.84 by the break.
