Tokyo shares end down on profit-taking

Tokyo stocks ended lower on Wednesday as investors locked in profit after the benchmark Nikkei index hit a fresh 27-year high earlier this week.

The key Nikkei 225 index slipped 0.66% to 24 110.96, while the broader Topix index gave up 1.17% at 1 802.73.
