In recognition of Wills Month this September, Wills and Estate Administration services provider, Capital Legacy will donate R25 for every Will collected by CCD Couriers for safekeeping by the company.

As the fastest growing administrator of Wills and Estates in South Africa, Capital Legacy offers a free Will drafting service every day of the year, as well as a free Wills collection service through CCD Couriers.  The company then safely stores the document at no cost, until it is needed.

“With only a quarter of South Africans having a valid Will, and even fewer having advised their families of where their Wills are held or filed, this is part of achieving our vision of every South African having a valid Will in place,” says CEO of Capital Legacy, Alex Simeonides.

He explains that estates often cannot be wound up because family members have old copies of Wills that contradict one another, or have not been able to find a valid, signed and safely stored Will.  This can delay the winding up of an estate, disbursement of assets and funding to heirs and leave grieving families with additional administrative and financial stress.

“We realised that people often find the task of drawing up a Will overwhelming, so to make the process as convenient as possible, we’ve harnessed the latest technology and go to our clients’ homes to help them through the process,” explains Simeonides.  “Whether a simple or complex Will is needed, we can help them draft their Will, collect it and store it safely, giving them the peace of mind that their wishes can be followed should they pass away.”

The company also offers insurance against the costs of administrating an estate and executing a Will, as well as cover for day-to-day expenses the family will have to bear while they wait for the estate to be wound up.

The free Will drafting, collection, amendments and storage services are offered whether or not a client takes out accompanying insurance that indemnifies them against the costs of administrating their estate after death and regardless of whether or not a client opts to nominate Capital Legacy as their executor.

This year, Capital Legacy has chosen to donate R25 for every Will collected by CCD Couriers for safekeeping by the company, to the Dempsey Foundation that helps families and communities care for those with special needs.

Last year during Wills Month, Capital Legacy’s Will.U.Help initiative provided just over R 100 000 to the Organ Donor Foundation. Other organisations which Capital Legacy supports include CANSA and the Heart Foundation, to which Capital Legacy donates R 1000, on behalf of the family, in memory of each client who passes away due to a condition associated with these organisations, and the Wildlife Foundation, to whom you can make a special bequest through your Will.

The Dempsey Foundation was started to provide for Dempsey, who suffers from Cerebral Palsy and faces numerous challenges.  Dempsey’s parents longed to help other families in a similar situation and the Dempsey Foundation now helps other special needs children and their families in our communities.
