British American Tobacco names Luc Jobin as new chairperson

JSE-listed cigarette manufacturer, British American Tobacco, has appointed Luc Jobin as its new chairperson with effect from March 1, 2021.

Jobin will succeed Richard Burrows at the conclusion of the company's annual general meeting next year. 

Burrows has been chairman of the cigarette manufacturer's board since 2009.  H

Jobin joined the BAT Board in 2017 as an independent non-executive director.

"The Board unanimously concluded that Mr Jobin's experience of enterprise transformation, extensive North American knowledge and cross-industry credentials make him the right candidate to lead the Board,” the statement read.
