Ninety One CEO Hendrik du Toit was allocated close to R100 million in salary and share incentives in the company's first year.

According to Ninety One's remuneration report, published in the company's first integrated report on Thursday, Du Toit earned a fixed salary of £666 000 (roughly R13 million) for leading the company through its first year as a listed entity.

After debuting in the eye of the Covid-19 storm, shares in the company - listed in March 2020 - delivered a 66% total return over the past year.
