Doesn't ad up: Broadcasters urge Icasa to update advertising revenue regulations

Despite competing interests and high financial stakes in the regulation of advertising, infomercials and sponsorships, there's one thing pay-TV and free-to-air broadcasters agree on: It's past time for a change.

Broadcasters made submissions before a hearing of the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa) on Monday. The hearings were part of a process to update the regulations that govern broadcaster revenue from advertising and programme sponsorships.
