If all goes according to plan, South Africa could see a new airline take to the skies in a few months' time.

The airline, which does not have an official name yet, is a joint venture between Global Aviation and kulula.com founder Gidon Novick.

Global is a full-service aircraft leasing company and a licensed domestic airline. Initial services will be on domestic routes with regional services planned down the line. It has been operating for almost 20 years, servicing supplemental capacity for local and international airlines, doing contract work as well as charter flights.
