The battle for control of Royal Bafokeng Platinum (RBPlat) continues to simmer as Impala Platinum this week released an offer circular to (RBPlat) shareholders - and Northam Platinum plots its next move.
Whether the drama will eventually fizzle out is unclear, but given the ratcheting back and forth between the mining companies, there is a chance there could be more surprises still.
Impala has been interested in the company for years and it's always been recognised that, with Impala's operations located right over the fence from RBPlats', there is scope for synergies to be realised and value unlocked.
