Standard Bank says its planned financing of liquefied natural gas (LNG) development in Mozambique won't be harmful to the environment, and that it could be a game changer for the Portuguese-speaking nation.

The bank is one of the leading funders backing further LNG development in Mozambique and will contribute $485 million to the $20-billion Total-led project.
