Record high commodity prices
Nothing characterised the year for mining quite like the continued rally in commodity prices. Producers of platinum group metals smiled all the way to the bank as rhodium prices topped $30 000 an ounce and palladium prices came close to that, peaking at just over $2 950 an ounce in April.
