Chicken producer Daybreak Farms, which is wholly owned by the Public Investment Corporation (PIC), has fired another top executive, citing a "complete breakdown in the relationship of trust".

Daybreak is one of South Africa's largest integrated chicken producers, slaughtering more than a million birds a week.

On Tuesday, top executive Mathapelo More received a legal letter to say Daybreak's board had terminated her contact with immediate effect.
