Clients of a Cape Town solar installation company say they are at their wit's end after spending hundreds of thousands of rands on solar systems only to be left with half-completed work and a litany of excuses and delays.
And they want answers on why authorities and regulators appear unwilling or incapable of taking their complaints seriously, despite consumer protection provisions.
The solar installation firms Solar Bay and Hello Solar are linked to businessman Jonathan Stephenson, 40, from Bergvliet in Cape Town.
