Ukraine ambassador calls on South African companies to quit Russia for good

Ukraine's ambassador Liubov Abravitova has started writing letters to local businesses with significant assets in Russia, calling on them to "join the position of the entire civilised world" and stop "activities and cooperation" with Russia. 

"Any profit that Russia gets today [is going] into the war against the civilian population of Ukraine," she told Fin24 on Thursday. 

"We decided to write these letters to companies that respect human rights, international law and the principle of sovereignty, who are looking at the humanitarian catastrophe that is developing because of the Russian invasion - to take all possible measures to stop it."
