Account history shows bulk of credit report

Cape Town - The account history/payment profile section of your credit report contains the bulk of the information.

It contains a summary of your accounts showing over a 24 month period, what your payment habits are - including the date the account was opened, the opening balance, the monthly installment, current balance on the account as well as a 24 month depiction of how you pay your accounts.

Various status codes will indicate your behavior in managing each account, that is if the lender has taken action against you for non-payment of the account for example you will see an “L” status code which means that the lender has handed you over for collection of the debt.

This section includes each of your credit accounts and details about how you've paid.

Your account history will be very detailed, but it's important that you read through it to make sure the information is being reported correctly.

The way in which you manage your account is very important so pay your accounts on time every month.

Also on your credit report:
* Personal information;
* Your credit summary and score from the credit bureau;
* Defaults and public records;
* Credit enquiries
