On Sunday, April 18, 2021, Zimbabwe marked its 41st Independence Anniversary with celebrations held under the theme: "Zimbabwe at 41: Together, Growing our Economy for a Prosperous, Resilient and Inclusive Society".

Speaking at the official function, President Emmerson Mnangagwa called his administration the Second Republic, a name used to disassociate his government with that of former president, the late Robert Mugabe.
