President Cyril Ramaphosa said government's hopes of improving the economy's fortunes lay in supporting small, medium and micro-enterprises (SMMEs) and, as such, he hoped to seek SMMEs out and set them on course to lead South Africa's economic recovery.

Ramaphosa was speaking at a webinar on SMMEs as government continues to implement its Economic Reconstruction and Recovery Plan aimed at guiding South Africa's recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic and crippling national lockdowns.
