President Cyril Ramaphosa told journalists on Friday afternoon that the idea of a state bank had his "full support", even in the midst of ructions from the Covid-19 pandemic and national lockdown that have rocked the South African economy last year.
Ramaphosa was speaking to reporters on Friday afternoon during an engagement facilitated by the South African National Editors Forum. News24 editor in chief, Adriaan Basson asked the president about shared Minister of Finance Tito Mboweni's desire for the establishment of a state bank.
