'We are in a serious crisis': Four out of every 10 South Africans now out of work

Four out of every 10 South Africans are now without a job, according to the latest expanded definition of unemployment released by Stats SA.

On Tuesday, the statistic agency announced the number of unemployed South Africans fell by 2.2 million in the second quarter of the year, a period which coincided with the strictest lockdown measures to stem the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
