US citizens will take to the polls on Tuesday to choose the candidate who will lead the world's largest economy.

If the last four years under President Donald Trump's leadership are anything to go by, there's no doubt that decisions taken by the incumbent have ramifications for the rest of the globe. Among his notorious decisions is the announcement of an intention of the US to pull out the Paris Agreement on climate change - this with the effects of the planet's ecological crisis already being felt, often more harshly by vulnerable and poor populations. Trump has also withdrawn the US from a nuclear deal with Iran, struck by former president Barack Obama.
