Govt not doing enough for youth - startup

A Fin24 user thinks the government is not doing enough for youth empowerment. He writes:

I'm a 27-year-old running a commercial cleaning business in Melrose Arch by the name of Ramkay Projects. My business is just over one-and-a-half years old and I currently employ 3 full time and 2 part time cleaners.

I've applied for numerous cleaning tenders with the government without much success. So much for youth empowerment!

We currently only have one contract cleaning a residential building in Melrose Arch but with my courage, dedication and determination I believe Ramkay Projects will be a force to be reckoned with within the next five to ten years.

Independent business consultant Anton Ressel has some advice for Ramkay Projects’owner:

Your inability to secure any government tenders is actually a blessing in disguise.

Building a business that relies on work from the government for its survival is never a sustainable strategy, because as you indicate in your letter the playing field is not really level, and things change quickly and without warning in the public sector.

My advice, keep doing what you are doing - look for private sector opportunities, market yourself hard, do great work and success will surely follow.
