European stock markets climbed at the start of trading on Tuesday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index gaining 0.2% to 6 808.64 points.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index added 0.3% to 13 984.42 points and the Paris CAC 40 advanced 0.2% to 5 672.90.
