Hong Kong stocks close lower

Hong Kong shares finished more than 1% lower Tuesday, in line with an Asian retreat, as traders fret over the reimposition of containment measures in several countries as the virus flares up again.

The Hang Seng Index shed 1.14%, or 294.23 points, to 25 477.89.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.83%, or 28.67 points, to 3 414.62 while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange slipped 0.85% to 2 309.57.
