DTI proposes debt relief for retrenched workers, low income groups

Cape Town – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) recommends changes to the National Credit Act that will allow the minister to prescribe debt relief measures to over-indebted households from time to time.

This would include debt forgiveness to certain groups of over-indebted people.
