Finance Minister Tito Mboweni will on Wednesday table the medium-term budget policy statement, said to be one of the most important as it will be announced within the context of a global pandemic which has ravaged the economy. Mboweni has warned this might not be a popular budget as difficult decisions must to be taken to avoid a fiscal crisis.

The mini budget will lay out government's priorities for the next three years. From the public sector wage bill, to escalating debt levels and troubled state-owned enterprises.
